What has the Lakeland CRA done in 2017? Well, the short answer is A LOT! With so many projects and incentives offered across three redevelopment districts, our hope is that this blog may serve as a resource to you. What social media posts and small snippets can’t explain, this medium will expound on the work we do and the incentives we offer. You’ll be sure to read updates on many ongoing projects and learn about how we function within the City and how you can be a part of Lakeland’s growth!
Each year, the Lakeland Community Redevelopment Agency publishes an annual report highlighting the investment made within the districts and the progress of projects that are fulfilling the redevelopment goals set forth in the Redevelopment Plans. During FY 2017 (Oct. 1, 2016 - Sept. 30, 2017), we were able to unveil the long-awaited Mass Market development in Midtown. This creative hub houses over eight different businesses and organizations that have activated this square block and elevated the arts in Lakeland!
While many incentives are leveraging tools to attract businesses and homesteaders to our districts, there are times when we spearhead projects to serve as a catalyst for future private development. Perfect examples of this include Lincoln Square and Mass Market. This year’s report title is “Powered by Lakeland CRA.” We will continue to invest in our districts to ensure that redevelopment is done in an equitable manner.
Check out the video below for an inside look at Mass Market and its tenants.
Be sure to follow us on social media to continue to receive updates on our projects and feel free to message us or call us at (863) 834-5200 if you have any question. The full annual report can be accessed here! While redevelopment work takes time, it isn't possible without the dedication and collaboration between all stakeholders. We're fortunate to have an innovative team of staff, advisory board members, and contributors like you. Together let's bring Lakeland to the next level!
